Quad Cities · Iowa & Illinois
Three Casinos.
Two States. Four Cities.
They are not interchangeable — here's which one you actually want
The Quad Cities are Davenport and Bettendorf on the Iowa side, Rock Island and Moline on the Illinois side, with the Mississippi running between them. Three casinos serve the metro, all within about twenty minutes of each other, and every guide treats them as a list. They shouldn't be. One has the biggest hotel in Iowa. One has more table games than the other two combined. One has the largest floor and is in a different state, which changes your sports betting app. This page puts all three side by side so you can pick on the thing you actually care about.

Nobody wins on everything. Bettendorf has more than twice the rooms of anyone else and the Caesars Rewards network behind it. Davenport has nearly twice the tables of the other two put together. Rock Island has the biggest floor by square footage and is the only one in Illinois. If you're here for one night and one game, that's a real decision — not a coin flip.

Pick on What You Actually Care About
Four honest answers
You want a room, or you're bringing a group
Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf. 509 rooms is the largest hotel in the state of Iowa — not the largest casino hotel, the largest hotel. In a metro where the other two have 205 and 106, that's not close. It's also the Caesars Rewards property, so the stay earns credits that carry to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and the rest of the network.
→ Bettendorf.CasinoYou play tables
Rhythm City Casino Resort, Davenport. About 25 live tables against 14 and 13. More games running at more limits on a weeknight, and the reason serious table players here default to Davenport even when they sleep somewhere else. Purpose-built as a land-based resort in 2016, so it's the newest of the three.
→ Davenport.CasinoYou want the biggest floor, or you're staying on the Illinois side
Bally's Quad Cities, Rock Island. About 42,000 square feet is the largest gaming floor in the metro, on Wicks Lake, with 205 rooms. It's the only casino in Illinois here — which matters for sports betting, and matters if you're basing yourself near the airport.
→ RockIsland.CasinoYou're flying in
Start at Moline. Quad City International (MLI) is on the Illinois side and puts all three casinos within twenty minutes of the terminal. There's no casino in Moline itself — but there is an Allegiant nonstop to Las Vegas about twice a week, which is worth knowing.
→ Moline.CasinoWhere to Stay in the Quad Cities
Three casino hotels. One of them is more than twice the size of the others.
Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf has 509 rooms — the largest hotel in the state of Iowa — against 205 at Bally's Quad Cities and 106 at Rhythm City. For a group, a tournament weekend, or any trip where availability matters, it's the one that will have space. It's also the Caesars Rewards property in this market, so the stay earns tier credits that carry to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, New Orleans and the rest of the network. Plenty of people here play Davenport's tables and sleep at the Isle — it's ten minutes and it doesn't cross a state line.

Four Cities, Four Different Reasons
Each one has its own guide
Two of the Quad Cities are in Iowa and two are in Illinois, and they do not play the same role. One has the rooms, one has the tables, one has the biggest floor, and one has the airport. Here's what each is for.
Bettendorf, Iowa
— the rooms
Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf, a Caesars property with 509 rooms, on the Mississippi. Also the TBK Bank Sports Complex, which fills those rooms most weekends with youth tournaments — book ahead.
→ bettendorf.casinoDavenport, Iowa
— the tables, and the culture
The largest of the four. Rhythm City has the deepest table games in the metro. Davenport also has the Figge Art Museum on the riverfront, one of the oldest ballparks in minor league baseball at Modern Woodmen Park, and the birthplace and museum of jazz cornetist Bix Beiderbecke.
→ davenport.casinoRock Island, Illinois
— the casino and the history
Bally's Quad Cities on Wicks Lake. Rock Island also has Arsenal Island — an active US Army installation and the largest government-owned weapons arsenal in the country — bald eagles below the lock and dam every winter, and Circa '21, one of only two dinner theatres still operating in America.
→ rockisland.casinoMoline, Illinois
— the airport
No casino, and that's useful to know. Quad City International (MLI) is here, along with John Deere's world headquarters, the John Deere Pavilion, Vibrant Arena at The MARK, and an Allegiant nonstop to Las Vegas.

The River Is a Real Border
Two regulators, two helplines, two sports betting jurisdictions
Iowa — Bettendorf and Davenport
- Regulated by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission
- Every Iowa casino partners with a qualified nonprofit licensee that returns a share of revenue to local causes — a structure specific to Iowa. Isle Bettendorf's partner is the Scott County Regional Authority.
- Sports betting legal since 2019; in-person registration dropped January 2021
- No legal online casino gaming
- 23 licensed casinos statewide
- No video gaming terminals — the machines in bars stop at the river
Illinois — Rock Island and Moline
- Regulated by the Illinois Gaming Board
- Sports betting legal since 2019; in-person registration dropped June 2022
- No legal online casino gaming
- 17 licensed casinos statewide
- Roughly 49,000 video gaming terminals at about 9,000 licensed bars, restaurants and truck stops — the largest network of its kind in the world. They are not casinos: no tables, no poker room, no comps, no loyalty tier.
The practical version. Moving between Bettendorf and Davenport changes nothing — same state, same rules, same account. Crossing to Rock Island changes the regulator, the helpline and your sports betting app. An Iowa mobile account will not take a bet in Illinois and an Illinois account won't work back in Iowa. Both states are fully legal; they just don't recognize each other. Check which side of the river you're standing on.
